Wine and cheese

Most people would first think to open a bottle of red wine when it comes to eating cheese

but in most cases they would be wrong! That is true that generally speaking, white wine

goes better with cheese as it allows to have a more interesting harmony between the

cheese and the wine flavours.

Below are some of our wine pairing recommendations depending on the cheese type:

Goat cheese

Go for a dry or semi-dry white wine with a good acidity like a Chabils, a Sancerre, a

Muscaset or even a Pinot Gris.

Blue cheese

Go for a sweet wine like a Sauternes, a Gewurztraminer or a Muscat de Beaume de Venise

Soft-Ripened Cheese like Camembert or Brie cheese

Go for a red wine here ! You could possibly go for a Pinot Noir or a Sancerre but for a

camembert we would recomment a Côtes-du-Rhône !

PRESSED CHEESE (Cheddar, cantel, tomme,…)

Go for a light white wine here like most of the white wines from the Burgundy region would

work really well.

HARD PRESSED CHEESE (Comté, parmesan)

Go for a strong dry white wine here like a Riesling or VIN JAUNE JURA
